Your Blogger is not by any means an expert on religon. It was only after someone mentioned the applicability of the Islamic notion of 'a just war' on the Balochistan situation, did I begin to surf the Net. During the search I came across the following piece of information from an Islamic Website:
Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock. As Muslims see it, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good men were not prepared to risk their lives in a righteous cause.Yet another Islamic Website proclaimed:
In brief, Muslims were allowed to wage war only because they were oppressed and subjected to violence. To put it in another way, God granted permission for war only for defensive purposes. In your Blogger's personal view - if the above interpretations are correct - then Islam would likely support the Baloch insurgency against the injust encroachments of a colonial-minded Islamabad.
